Snowbank Brewing Co | Fort Collins, CO

If we lived closer to Fort Collins, CO, Snowbank Brewing Co would definitely be a place we would visit regularly. And based on the crowd that was there when we visited on a Friday afternoon, we aren’t the only ones who have become fans of this craft brewery in the almost three years it has been open.

We were planning on visiting a few breweries in Fort Collins and made this our first stop because had visited almost two years ago and liked the beer so much, we knew it was on our "must try again" list. For a brewery to stand out that much amongst the other well-known and outstanding breweries in FOCO, they are absolutely doing something right.

The thing about Snowbank is that you can tell that they take pride in what they brew and strive to provide high-quality beer. It isn’t the brewery to go to if you are looking for Instagram worthy backdrops and props. It is the brewery you go to if you are wanting to drink excellent beer.

As usual, we split a tasting flight that included their Flagships:

  • Moon Arete (Belgian Wheat)
  • Sourado  (Dry Hopped Session Sour)
  • Snow Juice (New England Style IPA)
  • Colorado Red (American Red Ale)
  • Cranknbrew (Coffee Pale Ale)
  • 47½ Stout (American Stout)

And one small batch beer:

  • Cucumber Sourado (Sourado infused with Cucumber)

We enjoyed all of the beers, but the standout by far was the Cucumber Sourado (I seriously have a thing for cucumber beers this summer). It had just the right amount of sour balanced with the refreshing essence of cucumber. Easily, a beer I could drink all summer long. Our biggest regret was not getting a crowler of it to take with us.

We did pick up a bottle of Cranknbrew to take to Nebraska to share with my dad and brother since coffee pale ales are rare. If you have a chance to try Snowbank's version, I highly recommend it.

I’m excited to see the continued growth of this brewery and hope to be able to find their beers on tap at other locations.
